If we are talking about under the radar beaches in the Bay of Boka, then we have to mention Movida beach bar. It is cushioned in a small bay, close to the natural preserve called “Solila”. Because of its position, strong winds are a rarity in this area.

The pebbly beach is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas but if you choose so, you can put down your own towel. During the season, the bar often features live DJ performances, which gives you a proper beach groove. They have changing cabins, toilets and a restaurant in case you would like to get a meal. While many locals like to come and enjoy the sunny beach, it is located far from busy roads or maritime channels, giving you an opportunity to immerse yourself in your vacation.

It is also interesting to mention the nearby natural preserve “Solila”. The word ‘So” means salt in Montenegrin language. The name was given because during the time of Venetian rule of Kotor, salt was produced at this very spot. It was the main source of income for Kotor as at that time, salt was one of the most expensive goods. Salt was produced there all the way up to the 18th century. After the production was shut down, the marshland that was left behind became home to over 100 species of birds, many of which are endangered.

Whether you are interested in spending a relaxing day at the beach or if you are interested in birdwatching, Movida and Solila are a great places to explore while adventuring in Montenegro. They are located around 40 minutes by boat from Kotor, or around 10 minutes if you leave from Tivat.
